Warrior Poet Mental Yoga 50

Our survival impulses have gone awry. We no longer live in an environment where fat and sugar—the only bits of a gâteau worth having—are scarce; they are abundant, but our daft ol’ anachronistic brainbox doesn’t know that. That wouldn’t be a problem if you had a balanced life as part of a supportive, if not loving, community, like our species is designed to live in.

The moderation and regulation of these impulses is a challenge but not impossible—unless you live in a culture that continually stimulates these lower, atavistic desires. The booze becomes a necessary anesthetic in conditions like these. The natural desire for sex becomes distorted when we are abstracted from our social purpose, our reproductive function, our community values, and our interconnectedness.

We are living in a zoo, or more accurately a farm, our collective consciousness, our individual consciousness, has been hijacked by a power structure that needs to remain atomized and disconnected. We want union, we want connection, we need it the way we need other forms of nutrition, and denied it we delve into lower impulses for sanctuary.

We have been segregated and severed, from each other and even from ourselves. We have been told that freedom is the ability to pursue our petty, trivial desires when true freedom is freedom from these petty, trivial desires.

Revolution

Cribb Notes: The “power structure” Brand mentions is highly institutional as in the government, the church, and the corporations. These institutions control and wield power over the masses through well masked destabilization of the masses enacted most often through well defined sociopathic techniques. These techniques work so well in part because for whatever reason (limited awareness, limited empathy, or limited intellect in some cases) 60% of humanities population complies completely with orders and instructions from authority figures without question. This is true even when such action is obviously immoral and/or cruel. It should also be noted that less aware humans or, maybe even more so, highly aware but also highly destabilized humans (both in the singular), produce a “grass roots” madness in the masses of the same damn poison. In other words, the origin of all this nurtured madness/destabilization is in certain singular humans who naturally occur within humanities population. The institutions have just evolved these “grass root” techniques and perfected them in the art of manipulation of the masses. These techniques, singular or institutional in origin, are always about control and they must destroy stability in the process to achieve such. The institutions unfortunately weaponized what was once just individual sociopathology/psychopathology or simple downward transcendence behavior and turned it into weapons of chronic mass destruction and suffering for all.
